NOSE AESTHETICS

Rhinoplasty is the operation in which the nose is reshaped. The nose can be reduced and enlarged, its angle can be changed relative to the upper lip, the shape of the tip of the nose can be changed, and indents and protrusions can be corrected. Among the reasons for rhinoplasty are to repair deformities in an injury, to change the physical appearance of the nose to correct a birth defect or to improve breathing difficulties by improving some breathing difficulties. In some cases, both breathing difficulties and physical appearance may be among the reasons behind choosing the rhinoplasty option. The nose is one of the aesthetically important organs. It also has many tasks. It is the starting point of our respiratory system. It helps to smell. It makes our voices special to us. It is one of the doors of the human body to the outside world. All these functions and aesthetic appearance interact with each other. For this reason, it is an organ that should be handled as a whole with the inside and outside of the nose. Rhinoplasty surgery can be done in two ways as open and closed technique.

In closed technique, all cuts are made in the nose. The surgeon completes the surgery by working from within. In the open technique, a 3-4 mm cut is made at the tip of the nose and the tip of the nose is opened.

The difference between the two techniques is related to the surgeon's mastery of the operation. The closed technique made from the tip of the nose is more like surgery in a bottle. If you only plan to get something out of the bottle, there will be no problem, but if you want to make a model of a ship inside, your job is difficult. In the open technique, the surgeon can see the structures remaining in the front 2/3 of the nose.

Rhinoplasty can change the bone, cartilage tissue, skin layer or all three as required. When planning rhinoplasty surgeons, the rhinoplasty surgeon will consider other features of the individual's face, the skin in the nose and what the individual wants to change. It will develop a personalized plan for candidates who are deemed suitable for nasal surgery. During this period, the doctor will perform a complete physical examination, including laboratory tests such as blood tests. He will also examine the facial features of the nasal aesthetic candidate and the inside and outside of his nose. In this way, it is possible to determine what changes need to be made and how physical properties such as skin thickness or cartilage strength at the tip of the nose may affect the results. Physical examination is also important for determining the effect of rhinopilastine on breathing. There are many uncertainties in this surgery because the bones and cartilages that make up the structure of the nose exist independently of each other but as a whole and may act differently during the healing period. Therefore, this is the plastic surgery performed most frequently after revision, namely a second correction surgery.

Postoperative; Your first night will be relatively difficult. If you vomit a chunk of blood, don't be afraid. Some patients may swallow blood during surgery and this may cause vomiting after surgery. If the bleeding is not fresh and does not continue, do not be afraid, but be sure to inform your doctor. Breathing through your nose will be difficult even without a tampon, your head is heavy, you need continuous ice application and it will be difficult to sleep. However, you will feel much better the next morning. In order to protect your nose from trauma and reduce swelling, it is recommended to raise the head with a pillow as much as possible while lying down. Blood thinners and foods should be avoided. Exercise should not be done for a while after rhinoplasty surgery. Avoid solid, dry and hot foods for 4 days. Choose watery, soft, warm or cold foods that do not require much chewing. Avoid excessive facial expressions (straining, laughing, crying, yelling, yawning) for the first 4 days. Dry your nose for at least six weeks. We applied in Angelus Aesthetica center; You can contact us for Nose Aesthetics, which helps to change the physical appearance of the nose or to improve some breathing difficulties.
