Women need this operation for various reasons; Due to decrease in breast volume after pregnancy, volumetric difference between breasts, disproportion in body contours in women who think their breasts are small, especially in women who think their breasts are small, aging of breast implants (prostheses) placed for medical or cosmetic reasons, or because it has to be replaced because it creates a problem in that area. Plump, erect and suitably sized breast is one of the most important elements of female beauty. Breasts smaller, larger or sagging than desirable due to structural or developmental factors; It can cause psychological problems that reduce the quality of life of the person. It is almost inevitable that breasts will sag as a result of the gravity of the breast tissue due to aging.

Breast prostheses used to augment breasts and also known as breast silicone are subject to some distinctions in terms of shape, content and surface structure. The horizontal and vertical base diameters of round prostheses are equal. In drop prostheses, the vertical diameter is slightly longer than the horizontal diameter, and the height of the prosthesis is higher in the lower pole than the upper pole. When looking at the surface structure, prostheses are divided into two groups as surface smooth and rough prostheses. When choosing breast prostheses, the expectations of the patients and their body structures are evaluated together. Preoperative shape of the breast, tissue thickness, skin firmness, nipple placement, etc. All factors are evaluated by the physician and the patient is informed about these issues. After all this detailed examination, the size of the silicone breast prosthesis to be placed on the patient can be determined approximately. Silicone breast prostheses are long-lasting and extremely resistant to bursting or leakage. After the silicone breast prostheses are placed in the body, the body sees it as a tissue of its own and surrounds it with a structure called capsule and the patient generally does not feel that there is silicone inside after surgery. Each cut has its own advantages and weak points. Although the incision made around the nipple heals with a very small scar around the brown part called areola, technically it is the area close to the milk ducts, so there is a risk of damage to the milk ducts. In the sub-breast incision, as there is no damage to the mammary gland and milk ducts; Recovery occurs with a vague scar that sits in the under-breast groove. If there is an anomaly at the adhesion of the breast to the chest wall, this can be easily corrected in this procedure.After surgery, the breasts are dressed with elastic bandages and gas. Small silicone pipes that prevent fluid accumulation under the skin are removed on the 1st or 2nd day. The first 2 days after the operation may be painful, but thanks to strong painkillers, this pain is minimized. Bandages are removed on the 2nd or 3rd day and the surgical bra is continued for a few weeks. Thanks to the new sewing materials, the amount of stitches to be removed has decreased. Antibiotic creams are used for dry skin after surgery, but the stitch lines should be kept dry. Pain and swelling in the breasts may occur in the first menstruation after surgery. It is normal to have slight crusting or pink colored liquid on the wound edges.
